Thursdays off without Friday or Saturday off: initially great, but now that I’m faced with getting up and going to work, awful. Tesla agrees and is laying on my face, protesting my alarm, so hopefully I’ve spelled things right here. I can’t really see through her. I’m hitting snooze two more times.
Michael Geeraedts, I am devastated to hear about your passing, and wish your husband James and darling Isobel all the comfort and warm hugs that can be given in this awful time. I will greatly miss our geek-outs about cataloging (when I’d see you… our schedules were polar opposite)… I hope you know how much I enjoyed those conversations. I recently transitioned my school library away from the Dewey Decimal system and got into a few heated debates with you about my new system - I know that one day I would have convinced you Dewey is out of date, but for now we’re at a stalemate. The library world has lost one of its greats - as well as the world of my friends.
